    Abstract:

    The algorithm of the tread winding system configured in the open-loop control system for tread winding production features poor performance, and thus this study proposes a tread winding simulation algorithm based on the NURBS curve and verifies it with an example. At present, the tread winding simulation software of the open-loop control system for tire tread winding mostly uses straight lines and arcs for curve profiling in the winding process. The software’s built-in algorithm leads to a large deviation between the wound tread and the ideal tread and has a low winding efficiency. Therefore, this study uses the NURBS curve for curve profiling in the winding process and proposes a tire tread winding simulation algorithm based on the NURBS curve. The verification results show that the tread shape wound by the designed tread winding simulation algorithm meets the national standards and enterprise requirements and boasts good consistency and high production efficiency.
