    Abstract:

    Localization is an emerging subject in the filed of Wireless Sensors Networks(WSNs). This paper describes a hybrid localization approach combinning TOA(Time of Arrival) ranging with DV_distance localization algorithm based on Zigbee networks. The main principle of hybrid scheme is using DV_distance to get the culmulative distance with correction, after ranging the neighbor-nodes distance by TOA. The TOA ranging based on MAC-layer protocal of Zigbee can get a perfect result with no additional hardwares. This approach shows perfect precision, less affected by the proportion of anchor nodes, which is quite suitable for localization in large scale WSNs.
