    Abstract:

In the network fault management based on active probe, the first job is to determine the deployment of monitoring probe. Non-deterministic environment will impact the monitoring probe selection. In order to reduce the influence, a probe station deployment approach is proposed with select routing for active probe based on probability dependence model. The faults in the network can be localized sooner and cost-effectively using the active probes sent from the probe stations placed in the network. The simulation indicates that the algorithm has strong ability of fault location and cost-effectively.
