This paper first defines the average slope of curve and makes use of it together with the curved projection to find out the left and right boundaries of human face in the picture. It then finds out the upper and lower boundaries in accordance with other characteristics such as the colour of hair or skin, or the characteristics of eyes. It finally detects the whole human face region in the picture.
