    Abstract:

    To improve the management of water source in industrial cities, a design of data collection and communi- cation terminal of water meter applicated to AMR system is proposed, which uses a low power consume platform of Xmega256A3 and GPRS. The design of embedded platform with low power consumption and its software management are specifically introduced. Then, the test data are analyzed and the reliability of long running under the battery supply is estimated. It is proved in experiments that its power consumption and reliability have met the requirement in application and it has been applied to automatic management of water extensively.
