    Abstract:

    Fluid dispensing is an important process of Electronic Packaging. In order to improve the low efficiency of the commonly with X/Y-axis optimization algorithm in traditional dispensing process, this paper introduces the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithm to optimize the dispensing route in offline mode. Extensive simulations show that it greatly outperforms the commonly used X/Y-axis optimization and the dispensing route generated is roughly 50% shorter than X/Y-axis optimization when the holes are close to random distribution, which improves the productivity greatly, especially in batch processing cases.
