The tri-dimensional assembly process system is a hot trend in the development of CAPP, its primary source of basic data is information of three-dimensional CAD model. This paper focuses on the pivotal technic and difficulty of assembly information’s extraction in CATIA which is commonly used in auto trade, describing how to apply CAA secondary development technology in depth, extract assembly information and use it to the three-dimensional assembly process system, and compile assembly process.
