The creation and utilization of sort number has substantial connection with the work in library cataloging and circulation department. Its validity affects the veracity of bibliography data and collection circulation directly. After the research on improvement of some sort number, this article utilizes the VB language to develop the computer sort number management system, based on the SQL Server database, which effectively improve the efficiency and accuracy of the library catalog.
