A large quantity of data need to be validated to ensure accuracy, consistency and authenticity in the field of information processing. This paper introduces a general method of bulk data validation and develops a tool application. This application is a client to the data source. It accesses the data sources through drivers provided by the individual data source vendor. So the application is independent of specific data source. The application reads and validates data. It retrieves data according to the rule defined by the method. Database schema information is shown in the form of tree, which contains the name of database, the name of table and the name of field. The application can validate data from Oracle, SQL Server, Excel and so on, and it can run cross-platform.
