Oil and gas exploration data processing involves a lot of calculations thus needs high performance computing technology. GPU as a new kind of high performance computing technology can cooperate with CPU completed some computing intensive tasks. The GPU programming features make it more suitable for medium and small scale intensive computing environment. When introducing this technology the careful consideration of configuration model should be taken. The cooperation of GPU/CPU is a better way to enhance the efficiency of processing system.
